The famous Everglades National Park is a World Heritage Site that is home to several rare and endangered species including the Florida panther and West Indian manatee. The lesser known but equally beautiful Biscayne National Park offers miles of mangrove shoreline, perfect for snorkeling and canoeing. More than just an exciting nightspot, Miami offers some surprisingly scenic destinations for camping trips and day hikes.
The bustling city is south Florida's most populated. It has much to offer no matter what you're interested in. It boasts a wealth of museums, both art and historical, including the Coral Gables Museum and the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a 20th-century estate surrounded by miles of Italian Renaissance landscaping. The city has an ever-growing reputation in the art world thanks to the popular Art Deco District in South Beach and role as annual host to the international contemporary art fair Art Basel, which attracts a young and trendy crowd from all over the world. Miami's dining scene is just as vibrant as the artistic offerings thanks to a diverse mix of Cuban, Caribbean, and Latin American influences that has enriched so many of aspects of the city.
The warm ocean breezes and colorful culture highlight the easygoing yet energy-filled atmosphere of this city where you can do everything from relax at the beach to exploring an ancient Spanish monastery all in one day.
Naturally, the sandy coasts and marshy wetlands provided an excellent opportunity for some interesting golf courses. The beauty of the south Florida landscape lends itself to the city's many courses, from legendary Doral Golf Resort & Spa, to the popular Senator Course at Don Shula's Golf Club in the heart of the city where Royal Palms blanket the landscape.
