Much improved
This course got a bum rap because the previous owner neglected it. Since the new owner took it over they have improved it in every way shape and form. The layout was always good (no houses ) in play and interesting holes. It is not Pebble Beach but is comming along very well.
Very very bad course
This course should be closed. The t-boxes and the fairways were as bad or worse than the "so-called" rough. The greens were the worst we've ever played with little to no "green" at all. Thankfully we only paid $5.00 a person to play Pine Ridge Country Club, but that was about $5.00 too much.
For $7.00 it was a good deal
While on vacation I found this course had a tee time pefect for me and it was only $7.00. It was only 30 minutes fom my home so I decided to give it a try. The peson who greeted me was fiendly and had me on my way very quick. For someone that plays as little as myself the course was nice except some greens in poor condition. They are working to repair them also. I enjoyed the course but others who play frequently may not.
Problems being addressed
This is an interesting layout. Trees, elevation changes.
Downside is they have a grass problem. (lack of grass) on fairways and greens. They are working hard to improve but have a long way to go.
A great place to be if you move you ball on fairway and greens to avoid the bad patches. Not many players so if you want you can ply slow and hit do-overs.
Nice Layout but Distressing Lack of Maintenance
This course has a nice layout, but it has been in terrible shape for over a year. We only played it again to see if it had recovered - it has NOT. The fairways are sparse, but the greens are a disgrace - much bare dirt interspersed with rough, unevenly mown grass and weeds. It's sad to see a course that used to be very nice go downhill so badly.
The greens are bad, yet they are cuts very close and rolled tight so you get a pretty true roll.
Fairways were manicures, good condition, greens were in poor condition. A lot of bare spots on some greens more dirt than grass.
"It's not perfect but it's fun"
Sign in office says: "It's not perfect but it's fun". Oh so true. Greens are horrible: 1/2 clay & 1/2 grass. Still pretty fast but bumpy also. Fairways are fairly carpeted w/ grass. Tree lined course. Carts are battery powered but w/o windshields or rain cover in back for golf bags. Have played better courses for lesser price. Still had fun though. For the price that I paid, it was a good practice round.
The greens were gone!
Nice layout but all of the greens were gone. Looked like possiblya fungus but definetly in bad shape.
fun for the money.
A pleasant tract that needs a little boost, but always a reasonable challenge.
Pine Ridge Com Golf & Country Club Course has great potential!!
The course is coming along nicely since they have new owners! The workers are very friendly and they are working hard to get the course back to what it use to be. Some of the Greens needs work but nothing like it was, the fairways are cut right and you can find your ball now without the weeds growing so high and hiding it! even the rough is being keep the way it should be. It was a pleasure to play there now and seeing what they are really trying to do to keep the course in good shape.. It makes us very happy to play there now.
Granted, it needs time... but at least they are working hard to get Pine Ridge Country Golf Course back to the Beautiful course it used to be. The Bar and food is back and running and the Food is good! The place is Clean!
Keep up the good work Pine Ridge Country Golf Course!!
Surprised !
I played the course last year and said I would never play it again. I figured since it was $11 on Golfnow, I'll try it again. It wasn't in the best shape I have played but it also wasn't the worst. The fairways and greens were a lot better. I would play it again for $11 or $12.
It has potential
Not too bad for the most part especially considering the price. It is a great value for someone wanting to play a practice round . Several nice doglegs that force you to hit short or shape your drive to narrowing fairways. The bunkers were well kept as were the tees. The fairways and greens were decent for the most part but a few were in need of attention (dimpled greens, missing grass etc.)
All in all, I play here often and have seen it from very good to in need of serious attention. I would play here anytime without hesitation since it is such a good value. I usually go in and get a sandwich and a few drinks nearly out of guilt from the low prices for golfing.
Not worth the money.
Last year I played this course for $10. This year it is $24.50. When I asked why the large increase, they said it was because they have a real course now. I have to disagree. The course is better then it was, but does not compare to other courses in the area that charge about the same. The fairways are very thin, ball does not situp. The rough is sand and weeds. The greens are spotty with dead spots. There are about four that are in good shape. It is a nice course to play. but they have to lower price for the shape the course is in.
Dump
This course has been neglected for years. Poor managment. Should be a $5 course. Seriously!!!
Course needs an overhaul
I would say that the course needs to be redone from tee box to green. Many tee boxes were not level, most greens were not well maintained and played at different speeds, and the age of the course really shows. This is the first time that I have experienced bumpy conditions while riding the golf cart on cart paths, in the rough, and even on the fairways. The most maintained area at this course was the parking lot.
Like layout
nice layout. fairways good. Only one water hole. lots of risk and rewards, but big trouble if you miss. :)
This course is improving but greens need major work.
Fairways are in good shape but greens need major attention.
Improved from last year
This course is improved from last year and is a good value for the money. The fairways are in good shape. A few of the greens are in good shape but the rest have holes in them.
A long course compaired to Brentwood
went out on a vey windy day but had a blast a long course with a few holes over 400 plus yards greens need some work but the staff is working on the greens to bring them up to shape
